Deleting your account
How to remove your own account or close the whole company — and what happens to the data.
Two different things get confused here. Deleting your account removes you — your login and your personal data. Closing the company ends Atteny for everyone in your organization. Only the first one has a button.
Delete your own account
- 1
Open Settings
Go to the Settings tab and scroll to Account. - 2
Tap Delete account
Read the warning, then tap Continue. - 3
Confirm
Tap Delete my account on the second prompt. You're signed out immediately.
- 1
Open your own profile
Go to Employees, pick yourself, and open the Personal tab. The Danger zone card only appears on your own profile — never on a colleague's. - 2
Select Delete account
TypeDELETEin the confirmation box, then select Delete my account.
Employees don't have the Employees page on the web, so if that's your access level, use the phone app instead.
What happens, and when
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Immediately | Your access is revoked, your sign-in is blocked, push notifications stop, and you show as inactive to your employer. |
| Within 30 days | A daily job erases your personal data: name, email, phone, photo, date of birth, address, emergency contact, bank details, national ID and any uploaded work permit. Your login is removed. |
| Kept | Time and payroll records your employer must retain by law stay, attached to an anonymized "Deleted User" record. |
Your admins and the managers of your location get an Account deletion requested notification, and the request is written to Settings → Audit log. Notification texts are currently English only.
Closing the whole company
Admins can't close an organization themselves — there's no such setting. Email support@atteny.com from your admin address and we'll schedule it. Once scheduled, everyone loses access at once and the company's data is permanently deleted after 30 days. Until deletion begins, we can still reverse it, so ask quickly if it was a mistake.
The "Access suspended" screen
If your organization is suspended or closed, signing in shows a single card instead of the app — Access suspended or Account closed — with a Contact support button and a sign-out link, on both web and mobile. Nothing is lost while suspended; when access is restored, the next load takes you straight back to the dashboard.
Because that screen replaces the whole app, the in-app delete button isn't reachable then. Email support@atteny.com from your account's email address, naming your organization, and we'll start the deletion for you. See also Employee profiles and Plans and limits.
