How do I request time off?

Send a leave request from your phone, see how many days it costs, and follow or cancel it.

For employees

Requires the Leave Management module to be turned on in Settings → Modules.

You ask for time off in the app, and your manager approves or rejects it. Before you send it, the app tells you how many days it takes from your balance.

  1. 1

    Open Request time off

On Home, scroll to Quick Actions and tap Request time off. The Request row under Leave on the More tab opens the same sheet.

Home scrolled down to the Availability card and the Quick Actions: Grab a shift, Request time off and Shift Swaps
  2. 2

Choose the leave type and the dates

Tap Leave Type and pick one; the days you have available appear under it. Then set Start Date and End Date.

  3. 3

    Check the days it costs

Under the dates the sheet shows how many days are deducted. Only your working days count: a public holiday, a day you do not work or a day your location is closed is listed as not counting. The sheet warns you if the request is more than you have left.

The Request Leave sheet filled in: Vacations with 9 days available, a start and an end date, the note 2 deducted, the Reason field and Submit Request
  4. 4

    Add a reason and send

Type a short Reason (the phone needs one) and tap Submit Request.

Follow your request#

The More tab shows your balance for each leave type and your newest requests with their status.

The More tab's Leave section: the Request row, days left for three leave types, and one request for 12 to 13 October marked Pending with a cancel mark beside it
  • Pending: waiting for your manager.
  • Approved or Rejected: decided. You get a notification either way.
  • Cancelled: taken back.

To cancel, tap the ✕ next to the request. You can do that while it is pending, and also after it was approved, up to the day before it starts: the days go back to your balance. Once the leave has started, ask your manager to cancel it.

Ask as early as you can. It gives your manager time to plan cover for your shifts.
