Replay the tour or setup guide

Restart the product tour, or bring back the setup guide and its welcome dialog, on the web or in the phone app.

Atteny has two walkthroughs. The product tour points out where everything is. The setup guide helps an admin choose features and finish setting up the company. You can bring both back.

People who join by invitation get the product tour at their first sign-in. The person who created the company does not: for them, restarting the tour is the way to see it.

On the web the controls are in Settings, which only admins can open. Managers and employees restart the tour in the phone app. The setup guide is for admins only, on the web and on the phone.

    Open Settings, General

    Go to Settings, General and scroll to the end of the page, to the Onboarding & guides card. You can also press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) and search for "restart tour" or "setup guide": the result opens the same page.

    Restart the product tour

    Next to Product tour, select Restart tour. Atteny opens the Dashboard and the tour starts again. It replays for you only, not for the rest of the team.

    Or restart the setup guide

    Next to Setup guide, select Restart guide. Atteny opens the Dashboard and shows the welcome dialog again. Read the next section before you choose anything in it.

What the welcome dialog changes#

Restarting the tour changes no settings. Restarting the setup guide changes nothing either, until you choose a business type in the welcome dialog.

A business type in the welcome dialog works like a preset: it replaces all five module switches at once, with no confirmation. Office and Retail (Office / Team and Retail / Shop on the phone) switch Availability and Shift Swaps off and the other three modules on, also if you had switched one of them off. Restaurant / Hospitality (Restaurant / Café) switches all five on.

On the web, the guided setup opens after you choose a business type.

  • To keep your modules as they are, choose Maybe later on the first screen, or Custom on the second (Maybe later and Custom on the phone). Neither changes anything.
  • If a business type switched Payroll back on, check your team: with Payroll on, a person whose profile has no employment type or no pay group cannot clock in.
  • If it switched off a module you use, switch it back on under Settings, Modules. See Turning features on and off.

What comes back with the setup guide#

  • The welcome dialog, until an admin answers it.
  • The Getting started card on the Dashboard, but only while a setup step is still open. It returns even if you had hidden it. In a company where every step is done, only the welcome dialog comes back.
  • On the phone, the card is called Get set up and follows the same rule.

On the web, the card's Run guided setup button opens the guided setup. The phone card has no such button: the guided setup runs on the web. See Use the guided setup.
