I can't see a button or page someone else has

A colleague is describing a page you can't find, or a button that was there last week. It is nearly always one of three things — and only an administrator can change any of them, so if you're a manager or an employee this ends with asking one.

1. Is it your role?

Employees see Dashboard, Schedules, Timesheets and Availability — no Employees, Locations, Payroll, Reports or Settings. Managers add Employees, Locations and Reports, but not Payroll or Settings. Settings is admin-only: opening a /settings link as anyone else bounces you back to the Dashboard.

To check your own level, open More in the phone app — it sits under your name. An admin can read anyone's under Employees → the person → Employment. Full table: Roles and permissions.

Managers meet a quieter version of this: the page opens, but looks empty or short, because it only ever covers their assigned locations — see What managers can see.

2. Is the module switched off?

If your admin can't see it either, the feature is off company-wide under Settings → Modules, and then it's gone for everyone on web and in the app. An old bookmark still opens, to: "This feature has been turned off by your administrator. Contact them if you need access."

Two that catch people out: with Payroll off, the Employment tab disappears from every profile; with Availability off, so does the Availability tab. Full list in Turning features on and off.

3. Is it your plan?

Reports is the one to know. On the free Starter plan, Reports stays in the sidebar and in the app's Manage list, dimmed with a Pro badge, and the page explains the feature instead of showing data. People, admins, managers and locations are capped rather than hidden — those show up as a blocked button, not a missing one. See Plans and limits.
