Create your account and company

A company in Atteny is created once, on the web. The person who creates it becomes its first admin. Everyone else joins later by invitation.

   Open the sign-up

   Go to atteny.com and select Start free. The page How will you use Atteny? shows two cards. Choose I'm setting up Atteny for my business, which carries the button Create my company.

   Create your login

   Sign up with your Google, Apple or Microsoft account, or with an email address and a password. Atteny creates a company only for a login with a verified email address. If you are asked for a code, it was sent to the address you entered.

   Name your company

   The card Create your company asks for First name, Last name and Company name. Only the company name is required. Select Create company.

   Write the company name the way your team should read it. Invitation emails keep using the name you type here.

   Answer the first questions

   You land on your dashboard. Two dialogs can open there, one after the other.

   Let's finish your profile asks for the profile details your company requires. Until you choose otherwise, these are a phone number and a date of birth. A first name is always required, so it is asked too if you left it blank. Maybe later on its first screen puts the dialog off for this browser session, and a banner on the dashboard keeps listing what is missing.

   Once those details are in, Welcome to Atteny asks what kind of business you run and switches the matching features on. See Choose your features.

What Atteny sets for you#

• Your role. You are the company's first admin.
• The time zone. It is taken from the browser you signed up in.
• The document language. PDFs and report emails start in the language you signed up in.
• The business name. It starts as the company name you typed.

An admin can change the last three under Settings, then General. Changing the business name there does not change the name in invitation emails. See Set your company basics.

All five features (modules) are on until you answer the welcome dialog.

The person who creates the company is not shown the product tour at the first sign-in. People who join by invitation are. To start it yourself, see Replay the tour or setup guide.

Starting from the phone app#

A company cannot be created in the phone app. A phone that has never been signed in opens the app on How will you use Atteny?. There, Create my company opens your browser at the web sign-up. Continue there from step 2.

One login, one company#

• A login that already belongs to a company cannot create another one. This also holds for a person who was disabled in that company. Sign up with a different email address.
• If an invitation is waiting for your address, Atteny asks first whether you want to join that company. Choosing Create my own company instead means this login can no longer accept that invitation.

What happens next#

Your company is empty: no location, no team, no schedule. The next guides fill it in.
